Core Values

When Jesus was asked what God’s most important command was, he answered quite simply, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.” Mark 12:29-31 NIV

Also, the last words of Jesus as recorded in Matthew’s gospel to his disciples are, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18 NIV)

We want these simple, yet powerful commands to be the cornerstone of our church and of our values.

Alma Vineyard Church values...

  • The Goodness of God  (Exodus 33:19; Zechariah 9:17)

  • The Kingdom of God  (Luke 12:31 & 32; Revelation 5:10)

  • Worship  (Psalm 29:2; Matthew 4:10)

  • Centrality of the Word of God and its Power (Ephesians 4: 12)

  • Valuing His Presence  (Psalm 16:11; Acts 2:28)

  • Risk & Faith  (Hebrews 11:6; James 1:6)

  • The Prophetic (1 Corinthians 14:1 & 39)

  • A Culture of Honor (Romans 12:10; Ephesians 5:21)

  • Generosity (2 Corinthians 9:7; Ephesians 4:28)

  • Joy & Hope (Romans 15:13)

  • The Importance of Marriage & Family (Ephesians 5:22-33)

These values are not ranked in order of importance. Each one is equally important. And together they embody the culture we espouse at Alma Vineyard Church. We believe it is our calling as a church, empowered and directed by the Holy Spirit, to do the works of Jesus in our world, as we seek to continue the mission of Christ as expressed in Luke 4:18 &19: "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."

As a body of believers we desire to see revival come in Alma and beyond

as Heaven invades earth and the Kingdom of God is revealed

in all its fullness and glory in these days.
