I read a poem recently that just grabbed my heart's attention!
I thought, "With a few changes, this will reflect my story"
Here it is.
I opened The Book and there I stood,
now nobody can find me
I've left my house, my world, my fears
Together we walk, He beside me.
I'm wearing a crown, I've slipped on the ring
I've healed the man born blind.
I've fought with a giant, dined with the king,
and slept in the pit with a ravenous lion.
I'm inside The Book, I've made some friends
I've shared their tears and laughter.
I've followed their road with its valleys and hills
Towards Him, who wrote their story and mine.
I closed The Book, and out I came
Those fears no longer haunt me.
My house and my world are just the same
But I now have The Book inside me.
The original poem "I opened a book" By Julia Donaldson
“What makes the difference is not how many times you have been through the Bible, but how many times, and how thoroughly the Bible has been through you.”
